A refreshing watermelon margarita with a hint of basil. I used Thai basil, but regular basil would work just fine.

Ingredients
½ cup cubed watermelon
1 oz. simple syrup*
2 oz. tequila
Juice of ½ a lime
6 basil leaves
Instructions
Muddle the watermelon in a cocktail shaker. Add the simple syrup, tequila and lime juice.
Tear the basil leaves into the mixture and add some ice. Cover and shake well.
Strain into a glass and garnish with a small wedge of watermelon.
*To make simple syrup, combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan and heat until sugar is completely dissolved. Store in a jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
