Recipe type: Main
Cuisine: American
Serves: 2 servings
Ingredients
  • 2 1-1/2 lb. Maine lobsters, live
  • Kosher salt
  • ½ cup white wine, such as sauvignon blanc
  • Melted butter, to serve
Instructions
  1. Put about 1½ inches of water in the bottom of a large pot. Add wine and a few tablespoons of Kosher salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  2. While the water comes to a boil, rinse the lobsters in cold water.
  3. When water is boiling, add lobsters to the pot, head first.
  4. Reduce heat to medium.
  5. Steam lobsters 10 minutes for the first pound and 1 minute for each additional pound. So for 1½ pound lobsters, steam them for 10-11 minutes. For 2-pound lobsters, leave them in for 11 minutes.
  6. Remove from pot and serve with melted butter and plenty of napkins. Bibs optional!
