These moist chocolate cupcakes are filled with a chocolate chip cookie for a sweet treat that's doubly delicious!

Ingredients
  • 1 16-oz. roll of chocolate chip cookie dough
  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • ½ tsp. Kosher salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup how water
Instructions
  1. Line a 12-cup muffin pan with paper liners.
  2. Cut roll of cookie dough in half. Reserve half for another use. Divide the remaining half into 12 pieces; roll into balls and refrigerate until ready to use.
  3. Preheat oven to 350F.
  4. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.
  5. In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the butter until creamy. Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until combined.
  6. Alternate dry ingredients with some of the hot water and sour cream until everything has been added.
  7. Divide batter evenly among prepared muffin cups. Press one cookie dough ball into each.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes or until a tester inserted into the cake comes out clean.
