Author: Erin Berdan
Recipe type: Main
Cuisine: American
Serves: 2 servings
Ingredients
2 1-1/2 lb. Maine lobsters, live
Kosher salt
½ cup white wine, such as sauvignon blanc
Melted butter, to serve
Instructions
Put about 1½ inches of water in the bottom of a large pot. Add wine and a few tablespoons of Kosher salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.
While the water comes to a boil, rinse the lobsters in cold water.
When water is boiling, add lobsters to the pot, head first.
Reduce heat to medium.
Steam lobsters 10 minutes for the first pound and 1 minute for each additional pound. So for 1½ pound lobsters, steam them for 10-11 minutes. For 2-pound lobsters, leave them in for 11 minutes.
Remove from pot and serve with melted butter and plenty of napkins. Bibs optional!
